Woman advanced with age (40years) and mother of six was arrested in Lagos Nigeria where she was begging for alms. The said woman with name “Chinagoro Uwenke” uses her son to beg for alms in the streets of Lagos and at such has been arrested by Operatives of Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Units (Task Force) at Oshodi.

Speaking to newsmen after her arrest, Chairman of the Task Force, named Olayionka Egbeyemi, had said that Chinagoro after she was interrogated, said she bandaged her son’s leg everyday in order to convince the public that he is disabled so that they can be sympathetic with him and give him alms.

The said woman resides in Oloko-damma near Ijora-Olopa area of Oyingbo. She also said that her son schools at Oworebiri Secondary School at  Ata Town in Abia State but stopped schooling when she realized street begging was a lucrative business where she made N3,500 – N5,000 on daily basis.
